Thank You for Scheduling your Private Session!

We all need a little help sometimes. As you deal with the destruction of an old way of life, you may need someone to hold your hand as you navigate to a new phase of your life. You may need tools to help you through a difficult situation. Sometimes life gets downright rough, and you need a professional guide—a therapist to talk you down off the ledge, or out of bed.

Whatever level of support you may need, rest assured that if you need help managing your emotions and mental health, I can help.

How Does It Work?

After an initial consultation, we’ll create a map based on where you want to go, identify habits and practices to effectuate change, and then meet weekly to keep you on target. Working at the intersection of mindfulness, mental health and contemplative practice, our sessions will always include “homework” for you to take into your life to learn new behaviors and healthy habits.

Typically I’ll give you practices to do on your own that will help you take a clear look at your mind, to see where you are tripping yourself up.

Here’s what past clients have said:

I have experienced something few people in this world may ever experience. I have been able to open myself up and try and not be afraid to allow people to see me for just me. I have learned to find calmness inside, and have learned to look outside the box to get a better understanding of myself. - Alicia, Los Angeles

Your work, a unique offering of healing and empowerment, your presence and wise guidance helped me to return "back home" to myself with a sense of clarity, strength and inspiration. - Mary, London

I want to thank you for being a part of my journey to a deeper inner peace that I started to experience through meditation.  It has taken me many years of life experiences to get to a place that I am content with who I am and having love for myself. You have an energy that surrounds you that creates peace within others. - Barbara, Los Angeles

This work is for those who want to "dig deeper."Kim is a terrific knowledge source. Leaving in a stronger, healthier mental state than coming in. - Nicole, Bangkok

You really helped to make this a safe place, which allowed me to open up to the group, but most importantly to myself. - Linda, Los Angeles

I feel like I tuned in to the universe in a way I never have. It was very powerful and enlightening. Taking a step back and finding meaning in the simplest things was very transformative....I feel Kim played such an integral part of it. I can see better and hear more clearly and feel so much more. It's beautiful. - Nadine, Chicago

With 25+ years experience counseling and coaching people going through life transitions and all the accompanying emotional issues: anxiety, grief, loss, anger, depression, addictions, relationship issues and self-worth issues, you can relax and trust the process of transformation. My specialty is working with anxiety, grief, and life transition issues. I also have extensive experience working with expats and the issues that arise from living in a foreign culture. Because of my own 20+ years living as an expat, I have a special affinity for working with expats or women working overseas.

Contemplative + Somatic Based Psychology

The therapeutic model we will follow includes meditation practice. I’d like you to experience firsthand the powerful shifts a daily practice can create. It also includes a variety of body-based visualizations I share during our session

Together we can create the foundation for you to feel confident and sane, so you can experience emotional balance and profound mental health at every stage of your transformation.

Get all the support + guidance you need to navigate life transitions with courage + confidence

When you suddenly find yourself on the verge of a new life, it can be overwhelming.

It's hard to figure out what to do with yourself...when your kids are gone, you've just retired (or don't feel like working the rat race anymore) or you suddenly find yourself alone. Again.

Signs you are on the verge of a major life transition:

  • Waves of despair, fear, confusion and sadness when you wake up in the morning.

  • Feeling constantly "in the weeds" and out of control.

  • Like your life is suddenly devoid of meaning.

  • A nagging sense that you've failed as a mother, as a professional, as a friend, even as a woman.

  • Worst, you feel you've failed yourself for having given over all your creative energy to others your whole life.

  • Hot rage or hopelessness that may or may not be due to menopause, but you don't give a shit WHY you feel it. You just want it to stop.

  • Unable to decipher the messages of your new body, or keep off the new weight, no matter how many green smoothies you drink.

Guidance is often obscure and difficult to find. Friends are busy with their own dramas. Partners may not get it. Colleagues can’t provide the nurturing you need.

Where do you go for tools to create new healthy habits and a creative, sustainable lifestyle?

Maybe you need some guidance for facing a challenging new phase of life: your relationship fell apart, or your kids left home, or maybe you woke up and realized you need a divorce. Or perhaps you suddenly want to make a major career change and develop your creativity. These are big life changes, and they can take some time to adjust to. But some of us don’t have the kind of support we’d like to guide us through these life-changing events.

This is my mission: to help you get the tools, guidance and resources you need to navigate challenging life transitions–whether you are going voluntarily or kicking and screaming–so that you can create the new life you want.

“Before starting my coaching with Kim, I was on medication for depression, which included having suicidal thoughts. During the period before seeing Kim, despite the medication, I did not feel that I was improving, so I decided to seek help from Kim, who I met in Thailand while at a meditation course she was leading in 2018. Along with a daily meditation practice, Kim taught me how to stay present with any emotion or thought that arises. As a result, I learned that it was okay for me to have certain feelings that might seem very difficult to be present with. By observing those emotions and physical sensations, I accepted them as part of who I am, and I learned to become more gentle and kind to myself. By early 2020, I was off medication and was psychologically the best I had ever been.” ~ Namwan, Bangkok

My Approach

Befriending Emotions

Emotions are messages to pay attention. Emotions are not bad–they are the messengers pointing us to some aspect of our life that needs attention. But emotions cause trouble when you don’t listen to what they are trying to tell you.

You already have everything you need to be happy. But you might get tripped up by blind spots or an urge to flee intensity. Only by staying fully present and embodied with emotions can you move cleanly (without baggage) from one experience to another. Learning to identify and work with emotions is the basis of our work. The key is discovering that emotions are just a set of sensations. Once you experience that, everything becomes workable and you get clarity about the right choices to make

Taming the Mind

Meditation practice is at the foundation of all the work I do. I share a simple technique that will allow you to identify and manage thinking patterns that no longer serve you.

Unleash Your Creativity

When you train your mind to stay present and unobstructed, you suddenly have access to the creativity that lives within you. Learning to listen to inner wisdom automatically brings about a shift in perspective, so that we start seeing the world with new eyes. You start to uncover the expansive vision you may have experienced as a child, allowing for a revolutionary change of perspective.

This is where my passion lies these days. When the world seems to be falling apart, where do we find peace? For me it is in exploring the creative process and guiding others to do the same.
